Fall Mantel DIY

Hi there! I’m Ginger, & I blog over at Ginger Snap Crafts. I love blogging about all my latest crafts, recipes & DIY projects. I also have 5 wild & crazy kiddos that keep me very busy ~ especially this time of year…fall! We have fall sports, activities, band practices, hay rides to attend, football games & lots of fun holidays coming up really soon! Yay! I also love decorating for fall! As soon as September 1st rolled around I was ready to break out our fall décor & start planning our fall mantel!

This time of year also means that my husband is busy cutting hay. A couple of weeks ago after he was finished I snapped this crazy picture if my kiddos jumping off the hay bales! They were having so much fun! I did just a little bit of photo editing with PicMonkey (love!), & then I popped on over to Shutterfly (love even more!) to get it printed.

I love the home décor section at Shutterfly so much! I knew I’d find the perfect way to display this picture in our home. I finally decided to turn my picture into Wood Wall Art. The Wood Wall Art is amazing! The wood grain shows right through your picture, & it gives it that cool rustic look. I loved this picture so much when it came in the mail! I loved the colors & textures that are in it, and I used them as inspiration in decorating our fall mantel.

I began to collect things for our mantel. In my opinion you just have to have some pumpkins in a fall mantel ~ even if they are mini-pumpkins! ha! So I picked these up for super cheap at the grocery store. To stack them up like this you just cut the stems off of the ones on the bottom. Leave the stem on the one you want on top. So cute!!!

I found some mini-hay stacks at Home Goods. They matched our hay jumping picture perfectly!

Then I added a few other items that I had around the house until I got that rustic fall look like I wanted.

I then added “Enjoy the Journey” in vinyl lettering across the top of our mantel. This is kind of our family theme or motto. We so enjoy spending time together & doing fun things as a family. I love that I will always have this beautiful Wood Wall Art & family keepsake of my kiddos enjoying themselves this fall, and I absolutely LOVE it on my fall mantel today!
